Let's talk NPU (Neural Processing Unit)
Now a days, everyone is aware of what is a CPU or a GPU, but last week one of my friend's son asked me what is NPU? Think of NPU as a specialized expert inside your computer or phone. While other parts of the device handle general tasks, the NPU is built for one specific job: mimicking how a human brain processes information.
Here is a simpler way to look at it:
The "Kitchen" Analogy
Imagine your computer is a busy restaurant kitchen:
The CPU (The Executive Chef): This is the boss. They can cook anything, follow any recipe, and manage the whole staff. However, if you ask them to chop 1000 potatoes, they get slowed down and can't focus on the rest of the meal.
The GPU (The Prep Team): They are great at doing many simple things at once, like chopping those 1000 potatoes or washing 100 utensils quickly.
The NPU (The Specialist): This is a high-speed machine installed specifically to peel and slice potatoes for fries. It can’t cook a steak or wash dishes, but it can process potatoes faster and with less effort than anyone else in the kitchen.

What does it actually do for you? Because the NPU is a specialist, it handles "smart" tasks so your device doesn't "break a sweat." This results in longer battery life and faster performance on today'smodern devices. Common NPU tasks include:
Photos processing: Automatically recognizing faces or blurring the background in Portrait Mode.
Video Calls: Keeping your eyes centered on the camera or removing background noise.
Voice: Translating a language in real-time or turning your speech into text instantly.
Security: Powering Face or fingerprint recognition. Why is everyone talking about them now? In the past, these "smart" tasks were sent to the cloud (the internet) to be processed. With an NPU, your device can do all that heavy lifting locally. This means your data stays private on your device, and features work even when you don't have Wi-Fi.
Hope this help clarify certain things about NPU at a high level.
